General Assembly of European Association for the Education of Adults and International Conference on Youth & Adult Education and Lifelong Learning Hotel Mariott, Yerevan, Armenia 16-18 June 2010
On 16-18 June 2010 the General Assembly of European Association ofAdult Education (GA-EAEA 2010) and International Conference on Youth & Adult Education and Lifelong Learning took place in Hotel Mariott Armenia. The event will be commenced at 13:00, June 16 in Tigran the Great Hall.
The event is initiated by Adult Education and Learning NGO, www.mku.am ("Tanger" Recruitment Agency is co-founder), which aims to bring together experts, international and local organizations working in this field to discuss development directions, long-term goals and achievements as well as exchange professional experience.
The Congress and the Conference are organized by: Ministry of Education of Armenia, dvv international, European Association for the Education of Adults, British Council and European Training Foundation (ETF).
GA-EAEA 2010 in Yerevan provides European participants with a unique chance to get to know Armenia, to establish and develop contacts with international partners. The event will also enable the European participants to learn about Armenian education processes and establish a stable channel for information and experience exchange for ensuring long-term cooperation.
GA-EAEA 2010 is paralleled with International Conference on Youth & Adult Education and Lifelong Learning. Both events will be attended by more than 80 participants from 26 countries of Europe and CIS. In total, more than 150 participants are envisaged from Armenia and foreign countries.

European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA)
EAEA is a European NGO which unites 131 member organisations from 41 countries working in the fields of adult learning and represent more than 60mln trainees throughout Europe.
The main roles of EAEA are:
- Policy development and advocacy for lifelong learning at a European level
- Provision of information and services for its members
- Development of practice through projects, publications and training
- International cooperation EAEA promotes Lisbon Strategy of social engagement, supports adult learning, works for raising adult participation in formal and non-formal education.
GA-EAEA is an annual event which summarizes the activity of the organization and develops its further strategy.
In the previous years GA-EAEA was hosted by such cities as Sofia (Bulgaria), Larnaka (Cyprus), Metz (France), Lillehammer ( Norway), Avilés (Spain), Riga (Latvia), Malahide (Ireland), Bonn (Germany).
