It is during personal communication, entering the conversation that the final conclusion is made about characteristics of the applicant and the decision is made on his employment (refusal). In this case the employer is of the generally accepted opinion that it is better to see once rather than hear twice.

You already know quite well the peculiarities of your character, the level of your abilities and material requests, but the employer does not know. In the best case, he has read the resume you prepared and if he has any questions to you, he will want to verify the accuracy of the written information or receive additional information about your professional and personal data.

Your task is to give the most complete picture of the personality traits during the short time of communication that are of the interest to the employer (wishes, interests, abilities, which are not mentioned in the resume, character traits). You also need to make up your mind about the employer and the team in which you have to work.

Let’s put ourselves in the place of the employer. In our case he is the buyer of labor. Therefore, he, like every buyer, has a desire to buy something (a goal) and opportunities that he is trying to realize by solving several problems.

Suppose we come for a specific purchase to a supermarket, in which there are options for choice. First of all we look at the quality of the product then at its price and only then at everything else. It also happened that, having noticed something very necessary, we immediately buy it, although we did not plan this purchase.

The employer reflects in approximately the same sequence. First he examines the applicant from the point of view of compliance with the vacant position, and then assesses his own ability to pay in accordance with the initial assessment of the abilities of the applicant. Sometimes an employer can hire a specialist without prior intention only because he understands the uniqueness of the abilities of the person who came to the reception, i.e. he is ready to spend his time searching for vacancies for an interesting initiative specialist.

Thus, during the interview, the employer first of all determines the correspondence of the professional level and personal qualities of the applicant to the requirements of the position (job description), and then the correspondence of his material and other requests to the estimated amount of the work.

Do not to present yourself in the most favorable light. Because by misleading the employer, you will create problems for yourself in the future. To exclude the possibility of negative consequences in the form of lost time and nerves, it is advisable to spend a little more time on work related to choosing a profession and finding employment options that are most suitable for your abilities. But there is no need to hit the other extreme, i.e. underestimate the importance of advertising your abilities, because the payback for unsuccessful self-promotion may be the fact of not receiving the desired job. However, in order to get a job, you must clearly understand all the features and surprises that await you in the process of getting a job. To do this, you need to know as much as possible about the company in which you are going to go for an interview (field of activity, type of products, place among competitors, terms of employment, type of vacancies offered, salary, etc.). It is also necessary to carefully prepare all the documents and transfer the content with your own words.

In the process of preparing for the interview, it is necessary to prepare answers to above mentioned questions, as they can be asked by the employer during the interview.
